Dr. Leslie Ramsammy
Ambassador and Permanent Representative, Cooperative Republic of Guyana
H.E. Dr. Leslie Ramsammy is Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary and Permanent Representative of the Co-operative Republic of Guyana to the United Nations and the World Trade Organization in Geneva. A former Minister of Health (2001–2011) and Minister of Agriculture (2011–2015) of Guyana, he brings decades of leadership at the intersection of national policy and global health governance. Dr. Ramsammy has served as President of the World Health Assembly, Chair of the Caribbean Public Health Agency, and Chair of the Global Fund for Affordable Medicines for Malaria, and as a Board member of the Global Fund representing Latin America and the Caribbean. He brings deep experience in multilateral cooperation, health security, and global health diplomacy.
