Dr. Raman Rao

Dr. Raman Rao is Chief Executive Officer of Hilleman Laboratories, where he leads the development and delivery of affordable vaccines and biologics for low- and middle-income countries. A physician and life sciences leader with more than two decades of experience, Dr. Rao has held senior roles across vaccine R&D and global product operations at Takeda, Sanofi Pasteur, and Shantha Biotechnics. His career has focused on strengthening regional manufacturing capacity, advancing infectious disease innovation, and translating scientific research into scalable public health impact. Dr. Rao holds an MD in infectious diseases and an MBA, and has worked extensively across Asia and global markets.
