Rebecca Florsheim, MD, MPH

Dr. Rebecca Florsheim is a research physician at the NYU Grossman School of Medicine. Her clinical and academic activities center on the impact of environmental exposures on human health. She is currently corresponding co-principal investigator on a study funded by the National Institute for Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) investigating the accumulation of micro- and nanoplastic particles in humans and animals and the methods currently utilized to identify and quantify those particles. She speaks regularly at national conferences on the impact of micro- and nanoplastics, air pollutants, and other environmental exposures on human health.
Clinically, Dr. Florsheim works with patients vulnerable to environmental exposures at the Bellevue asthma clinic. She also treats patients with health conditions resulting from exposure to smoke and dust generated by the collapse of the World Trade Center towers on September 11th, 2001 at the Bellevue World Trade Center Health Program.
