Michiel Schieffer

Michiel Scheffer is President of the European Innovation Council Board, supporting European deep-tech companies as they scale globally. He is Founder and CEO of Polisema BV, where he has spent two decades advising and investing in startups scaling across ICT, medical devices, energy storage, and biorefinery. Mr. Scheffer has worked with over 20 universities and 200+ partners across the EU on large R&D projects, focusing on breakthrough technologies and the transition from research to commercial deployment. He previously served as regional Minister of Gelderland, where he managed innovation and economic development programs. He holds a PhD from Utrecht University.
